The Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT develops system solutions for “Next Generation Production,” a networked, adaptive production of sustainable and resource-efficient products and associated services. Our focus is on process technology, production machinery, production quality, and metrology, as well as technology management, ranging from the fundamentals to value creation through the digital transformation of production.
We develop and optimize new and existing methods, technologies and processes for the production of the future. We understand production not only in its individual steps, but in the totality of all processes and interconnections between the elements of the process chain. In this way, we develop both highly specialized individual technologies and complete system solutions for sustainable production on behalf of our customers.
With over 500 employees, the Fraunhofer IPT is working to enable production processes, systems, and products to benefit from the opportunities offered by digitalization: On behalf of our customers and project partners who set out with us the path to more sustainable, resource-efficient, and crisis-proof production.
