Route to Aachen

Roadworks will be taking place on Steinbachstraße from December 3 to 19, 2025. During this time, access to the institute will be restricted. The road will be completely closed on December 16 and 17..

By car

• Route via motorway A4 and A44
• At Highway interchange “Aachen“ take A4 to Antwerpen/Heerlen
• Take Laurensberg exit onto Route to Laurensberg
• Take first exit to Maastricht
• Immediately after the underpass, turn right twice for "Fraunhofer-Institute"
• Take first exit in the roundabout to Seffenter Weg
• Second exit turn left into Steinbachstrasse
• Follow the signs in the direction of the visitor parking lots

By train and public transport

• from Aachen central station with bus lines 3A or 3B ("Fraunhofer-Linien") to bus stop Forckenbeckstrasse (other lines from Aachen with stop at Campus Melaten: 12, 22, 30, 33, 70, 73, 80 and 173)
• then walk about 50 meters along Forckenbeckstraße and between Fraunhofer IME and parking garage straight on and take the stairs to the Fraunhofer IPT.

By plane

• from Cologne or Düsseldorf airport by train via Hbf. Cologne or Düsseldorf to Aachen-Hbf.
