ACOP Interim Meeting 2026 (Open Day)

Join the ACOP Community and shape the future of optics production

In economically challenging times, staying competitive means working more efficiently, sharing knowledge, and finding solutions together. ACOP brings together the right people to do exactly that.

Join the ACOP Interim Meeting on June 24, 2026, and gain first-hand insights into current developments in optics manufacturing and related fields. Meet researchers from Fraunhofer and industry experts to exchange ideas, discuss concrete challenges, and identify practical approaches you can take back into your own production.

The meeting will take place at Fraunhofer IPT, Steinbachstraße 17, 52074 Aachen, Germany.

Key topics include:

  • Enabling efficient optics production
  • Testing various materials for molds and shims
  • Measurement of microstructures

Participants will have the opportunity to introduce their company in a short presentation and highlight their capabilities, technologies, and current interests. This creates a solid basis for focused discussions, relevant contacts, and potential collaborations.

Participation is free of charge. Register now to secure your spot. We look forward to welcoming you in Aachen.

ACOP: Research and Community

ACOP was established at Fraunhofer IPT to address a central challenge: improving the quality, sustainability, and efficiency of optics manufacturing. Together with our industry partners, we have carried out more than 30 R&D projects in this field.

What sets ACOP apart is its collaborative approach. Partners define the research agenda together and focus on topics that offer real value in practice. This ensures that results are not only technically sound but also directly applicable.

Our work covers the entire production chain, including glass and polymer optics molding, protective coatings, assembly, precision metrology, and digital process integration. Micro-optics, both glass and polymer, are a key focus area, with clear potential for improvement in manufacturing and measurement.

ACOP provides a structured environment to exchange experience, benchmark approaches, and develop solutions jointly. It supports partners in making their production more efficient, advancing digitalization, and identifying and implementing concrete value creation opportunities.
