Analysis, definition and implementation
With the help of automation in toolmaking and a layout concept developed by researchers at Fraunhofer IPT in collaboration with the WBA Werkzeug Akademie Aachen, a new modern manufacturing is developed at ruwido austria GmbH.
To this end, the researchers are identifying the current technological performance of toolmaking through benchmarking and workpiece analysis.
Before concrete recommendations for action can be developed, the requirements for the manufacturing technology of the internal toolmaking are derived from the corporate strategy.
On this basis, the researchers define and develop three recommendations for action: a technology roadmap, an automation concept and a layout design. The operational implementation of these recommendations is then also accompanied by the project partners.
Results
In the "Automation and layout design" project, Fraunhofer IPT is working with the WBA Werkzeugbau Akademie Aachen to design a technology roadmap and an automation concept for ruwido austria GmbH based on the product scope and strategic goals. In addition, the project partners are creating a layout concept for the new production facility and providing support in machine selection.
