Dr.-Ing Tim Herrig

Tim Herrig studied Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Production Engineering at the RWTH Aachen University. He completed his master's degree in Machine Development and Automation in 2014. From August 2014, he worked as a research assistant in the department "Ablative Manufacturing Processes" at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering WZL of RWTH Aachen University. At the beginning of 2018, he took over the group leadership "Fundamentals of Ablative Manufacturing Processes". In March 2018 Tim Herrig additionally took over the group leadership "Electroerosive Ablation and Waterjet" at Fraunhofer IPT. Since the beginning of 2020, he has been head of the department "Water Jet Machining and Electroerosive Ablation" at the Fraunhofer IPT.
