Dear customers, project partners, sponsors and friends
the World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the spread of the corona virus SARS-CoV-2 as an "emergency for public health on an international scale". The current situation and the unpredictable developments worldwide present us all with special challenges. The welfare of all employees, as well as professional support and care, but also the safety of our business partners are extremely important to the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and thus also to the Fraunhofer IPT. For this reason, we would like to inform you briefly about the current situation at our institute and the measures we have taken:
In the course of the current situation and the associated risks, we have informed our employees about behavioral guidelines, precautionary measures, contact persons and binding sources of information, and underline this through regular updates. In addition, an accompanying catalogue of preventive and accompanying measures ensures that the current situation is handled in a risk-minimizing, responsible and at the same time reasonable manner. The majority of our employees use the home office as a place to work. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been avoiding unnecessary business trips and have been shifting our appointments to telephone and video conferences. Events and trade fair participations have been postponed for an indefinite period of time - here we will inform you as soon as reliable planning seems possible again.
We are aware that these far-reaching measures to protect our employees and their families, but also our business partners, may in individual cases lead to restrictions in availability and delays in projects, depending on the further course of the pandemic. As you are used to, we will inform you regularly about the status of our joint work and ask for your understanding in view of this special national and global situation. Nevertheless, maintaining the Fraunhofer IPT's ability to work and the ongoing maintenance of all existing projects and contracts continues to play a very important role - of course taking into account the safety of all parties involved.
Despite all current restrictions, we will keep the Fraunhofer IPT up and running for you and continue to work on your projects with our usual commitment. We continue our research and development activities in our halls and laboratories, taking all necessary protective measures into account. The majority of our employees can be contacted either by mobile phone or by call forwarding, but at least by e-mail. Should you nevertheless experience difficulties in reaching your individual contact person, please call our central telephone number: +49 241 8904-0 or send an e-mail to email@example.com.
